aside from the sore throat and lack of voice this morning, i have been feeling like a kid in a candy shop lately. michael and his gf sarah are coming to austin this weekend to run the half-marathon. rory will be here in may and just dropped me a note saying he'll be here at the end of the month for a day as well. makana was checking his schedule for dates to potentially visit. a bunch of friends from college have been shooting emails back and forth and it looks like we're all going to go to seattle for a weekend in august. and i'll be in denver in a couple weeks to see my brother and his fiancee and one of the guys i rode with this summer. so there are lots of people to see in the next couple months.
i have to admit. life without classes is awesome.
its looking like we're going to be shooting for a 3:50-3:55 finish time on sunday for the austin marathon. that's leya's (the friend i'm pacing) goal time and the time that i paced my roommates to last year, so it should be a nice training run for me (i realize that i run--far--a lot but it still sounds ridiculous to me that i run marathons as training runs). hopefully the morning weather will stay like it has been the last couple mornings--great running weather.
in preparation for sunday, the current plan for saturday is to take it easy--maybe ride with the new texas 4000 riders in the morning. then a bunch of us are going to try and watch mj's rugby game (mj is one of the girls i rode with this summer and i and a bunch of other riders have been wanting to go see her in her element). then the plan is to have a pasta party at my place for people who are running on sunday (or people who just want to hang out with people who are running on sunday). if you'll be around and want to join us, let me know.
now to make this cold go away...
